Showing His Cards

The Church Universal is “Exhibit A,” and you’re a part of it!

Do you ever feel like you don’t understand your place in “the great scheme of things”? Are you just trying to do your best to “get by,” and get through another day? Do the challenges of life sometimes feel overwhelming? Well, if so, you’re not alone. But if you could lift up your eyes from what lies immediately in front of you, and get a greater perspective, you would see that you have an important part to play in the epic, dramatic plan of God.

If you are a member of the Church of Jesus Christ (and I’m not talking here about having gotten your name on the membership roll of your local church, but that your name is “written in the Lamb’s book of life” (Revelation 13:8, 21:27)), you are part of what I’d like to take the liberty of calling here “Exhibit A.” By that, I mean that the Church is a teaching tool or aid that God has been using in this age to instruct and serve notice on the most powerful spiritual beings in the kingdom of darkness. What once was hidden from the beginning of time has now been revealed through the Church, the Body of Christ made manifest in the earth. And to whom is it being revealed? In Ephesians 3:10 (NKJV), Paul writes: “to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places...”

Why would God want to “show His cards” to His enemies? Because He’s already won the game, and so rather than tipping His hand, He has laid His winning cards down face up on the table, and the devil and his “top brass”, “the principalities and powers in the heavenly places,” have now seen that they are defeated because of what Jesus has accomplished on the cross, in the grave, and through His resurrection, and because He has birthed and inaugurated the “church of the firstborn, who are registered in heaven” (Hebrews 12:23 NKJV). Are you starting to get a glimpse of the magnitude of the importance of your role in the Kingdom of God? Ask God to continue to reveal it to you, and humbly and gratefully step into your awesome purpose and your honored place in the epic drama of the age."
